Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is an Indian classical dancer and actress from Bengaluru, Karnataka, known for her contributions to Bharatanatyam and South Indian cinema. Trained in Bharatanatyam from a young age under the influence of her mother, a music scholar, she developed a strong foundation in classical arts alongside her acting career. She gained prominence with her debut in the Malayalam film Arayannangalude Veedu (2000), earning the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress.
Over the years, Lakshmi has established herself as a versatile performer across Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil films. Her notable performances include Vidaya, which won her the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress, and Aptharakshaka (2010), where her role as a possessed dancer received critical acclaim. In addition to cinema, she has appeared on television as a judge and mentor on dance-based shows, further expanding her influence in the performing arts.
