About
Biography
Keshav Joshi is a tabla artist in Indian classical music whose training reflects both Maharashtra’s teaching traditions and the Banaras Gharana style. Born in 1980, he started learning tabla at the age of eight from Shri R. M. More and later continued his studies with the late Pandit Karveer Mallapur and Pandit Ishwarlal Mishra. This background has helped him develop as both a solo performer and a skilled accompanist. Keshav is a B-grade artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan, appearing regularly on these platforms. He has participated in many well-known music festivals in India and abroad, presenting his approach to rhythm with clarity and discipline. He has accompanied leading Hindustani vocalists, including Pandit Venkatesh Kumar, Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi, Vidushi Ashwini Bhide, Vidushi Arti Ankalikar Tikekar, Pandit Ajay Pohankar, and Vidushi Kalpana Zokarkar, which shows his active role in the classical music field.
