Kayam Hussain

Kayam Hussain is a British tabla player based near Rochdale, in the north of England. He is the son and student of tabla maestro Ustad Shahbaz Hussain. He grew up inside the tradition, learning at home and taking the stage beside his father from a young age.

His playing reaches past the classical circuit. Early in his own career he performed as a tabla player with Gorillaz, one of the world's best known bands. At KalaSudha he accompanies visiting masters at the London Ragas Baithak.
