Biography
Shri Kaluram Bamniya is a Kabir bhajan singer from Kanheriya village in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh, associated with the Malwa folk tradition. He learned bhajans within his family environment, initially accompanying himself on the manjira before beginning to sing at a young age.
His repertoire includes Kabir bhajans along with compositions of Meera Bai and Goraknath, often rendered in the local Malwi dialect. Over time, he has performed at village gatherings, cultural events, and institutional platforms across India, as well as at select international venues.
His performances have been presented at forums such as the India International Centre (New Delhi), Bharat Bhavan (Bhopal), Indore Literature Festival, and various university platforms. He has also been associated with Akashvani broadcasts and has featured in documentary works related to Kabir.
Alongside performance, he has been involved with Kabir Bhajan & Vichar Manch in Dewas, contributing to community-based initiatives and training activities. His work remains grounded in the folk traditions of the Malwa region while reaching wider audiences through concert presentations and cultural festivals.
