Biography

Indrayudh Majumder represents the next generation of Indian classical sarod performers, emerging from a distinguished musical family with strong roots in the tradition. His training with Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar has given him a rigorous foundation in technique, raga development, and the stylistic nuances of the sarod. His mother, Vidushi Dr. Manasi Majumder, has influenced his sense of melody and vocal aesthetics, helping his instrumental phrasing reflect the lyrical qualities of khayal gayaki.

 

Known for a balanced approach to performance, Indrayudh emphasizes authenticity and the traditional depth of Indian classical music while shaping his concerts with an accessible and thoughtful style. His interest in composition has led to work in film and collaborative projects, including assisting on the background score of the Bengali feature film Sajarur Kaata, based on the iconic Byomkesh Bakshi stories.

 

His concert career continues to expand, with performances across India and overseas. His debut tour in the United States included solo recitals and duet concerts with his father, featuring appearances alongside tabla maestro Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri.

 

Beyond the stage, he is engaged in shaping the digital future of the arts. As co-founder and CEO of ShowVelvet, he works to create interactive platforms connecting performers with audiences globally. With his grounding in tradition and interest in innovation, Indrayudh Majumder is steadily establishing his voice within the contemporary landscape of Indian classical music.
