Biography

Indrani Sen is a well-known Indian singer, especially famous for singing Rabindra Sangeet, the songs written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore. She was born on 13 April 1953 in Kolkata. From a young age, she showed a strong interest in music and later received proper training in singing. Over time, she became one of the respected voices in Bengali music.

Indrani Sen gained popularity during the 1980s and 1990s when her recordings of Rabindra Sangeet began to reach a wide audience. Her voice is known for its softness, clarity, and emotional expression, which suits the poetic nature of Tagore’s songs. Through albums, live concerts, and radio broadcasts, she became widely appreciated by listeners in Bengal and other parts of India.

Apart from Rabindra Sangeet, Indrani Sen has also sung Bengali modern songs (Adhunik songs) and devotional music.
