Biography

Hemant Chauhan (born 7 November 1955) is an Indian singer associated with Gujarati devotional and folk music. He specializes in bhajans, Garba, and other traditional forms.

He began his recording career with the album Dasi Jivan na Bhajano (1978) and has since released numerous devotional recordings. His work includes performances of bhajans based on the compositions of saint-poet Dasi Jivan.

He has performed in India and internationally and has been associated with Gujarati music traditions. He received the Akademi Ratna Award (2011) and the Padma Shri in 2023.

Hemant Chauhan has been active in music since 1978.
