Biography
Harsha Samaga is from Malpe, a picturesque coastal town in Udupi, Karnataka. He grew up in a family that had a strong connection to the performing arts, particularly in Yakshagana, classical music, and Bharatanatyam. From an early age, Harsha was captivated by music, leading him to undergo rigorous training in Carnatic percussion. His initial lessons in mridangam were taught by the late P. Vasudeva Rao, and he later honed his skills under the mentorship of the late Shri K. Harishchandran in Mangalore. His artistry was further developed with the guidance of Sri Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma in Bangalore. Throughout his career, Harsha has accompanied many esteemed Bharatanatyam dancers and classical musicians, showcasing his talent on stages across India and internationally.
He is a graded artist with All India Radio (AIR) and is celebrated for his rhythmic precision, sensitivity, and exceptional technique, making him a sought-after accompanist in both dance and concert performances. His work helps share the rich traditions of Carnatic music with audiences worldwide. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Harsha is a Chartered Accountant and currently balances his professional career in the corporate sector in Bangalore with a steadfast commitment to the classical arts.
