G Guruprasanna

G. Guru Prasanna is an Indian Carnatic percussionist and internationally recognised Khanjira artist with over three decades of performing experience. He received his early training in mridangam under R. Sathyakumar and Anoor R. Ananthakrishna Sharma before specialising in the G. Harishankar school of Khanjira under C. P. Vyasa Vittala. An A-Top-graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan, he has accompanied leading Carnatic musicians, including Dr M. Balamuralikrishna, Dr R. K. Srikantan, Sanjay Subrahmanyam, and Dr N. Ramani. His performances span major music festivals in India and abroad, including the Darbar Festival, as well as collaborations in world music and jazz. He is also the co-founder of the Samatva Foundation, promoting music education and artistic collaboration.
