Divya Ravi

Divya Ravi is an accomplished Bharatanatyam soloist, choreographer, and educator, celebrated for her virtuosic yet profoundly sensitive artistic expression. Her work is shaped by extensive training, a deep understanding of literature and poetics, and a natural musicality. While she performs traditional pieces in concert venues, her choreography is fueled by a desire to create captivating stage experiences that transform the lyrical, poetic, and abstract into movement. Her solo works, including titles like Manjari, Sarvasya, Poems of Love, Kanhopātrā, Vitthāmāi, Vārkari, Preyasi, Akhyāt Ākhyānā, and Abandhanā, have garnered critical acclaim, often performing to packed audiences and receiving praise for their conceptual richness, clarity of form, and their contemporary relevance rooted in classical technique.

Recognised with numerous awards, Divya is a graded performer with Doordarshan and is listed with the Ministry of Culture for Festivals of India Abroad and SPICMACAY. Her performances span major festivals in India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Hong Kong, the UK, Europe, and China. Trained under Gurus Kiran Subramanyam and Sandhya Kiran, with additional mentorship from Soundarya Srivathsa, Bragha Bessel, G. Venu, and Dr. Anupama Kylash, she currently furthers her artistic journey in the UK under the guidance of Mavin Khoo. Her work has received international backing from organizations including Arts Council England, The Place, Dance East, Akademi, and Kalasangam, and she is presently touring with Akram Khan Company’s production, Thikra.
