Biography
Debapriya Adhikary is an acclaimed Indian classical vocalist known for his soulful voice, deep training, and graceful blend of tradition and innovation. Born in Sindri, Jharkhand, he was introduced to music by his mother, Smt. Anita Adhikary, who inspired in him a lifelong devotion to the art. Trained under eminent gurus like Pt. Samaresh Chawdhury of Senia-Maihar Gharana and the legendary Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi of Benaras Gharana, Debapriya has mastered a wide range of forms, including Khayal, Thumri, Tappa, Dadra, Kajri, and Jhula. A National and President’s Award winner and an A-graded artiste of All India Radio, he is admired for his clarity of taans, smooth voice modulation, and emotional depth. His music beautifully reflects both discipline and creativity, making him one of the finest vocalists of his generation.
