Chinmayi Tripathi is a Mumbai-based singer-songwriter, poet, and music entrepreneur associated with contemporary Indian independent music. She is the founder of Kavyaraag, a platform dedicated to presenting Hindi and Urdu poetry through musical compositions.

Established in 2018 in collaboration with composer Joell Mukherjii, Kavyaraag focuses on reinterpreting works of noted poets such as Mahadevi Verma, Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala’, Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’, and Faiz Ahmed Faiz through modern melodic frameworks.

Chinmayi Tripathi is also a co-founder of Songdew, a digital platform that supports and promotes independent musicians across India. Her musical work reflects an intersection of literary text and contemporary sound, often drawing from classical and semi-classical influences within an indie-pop format.

Her discography includes releases such as the album Sun Zara (2011) and tracks like “O Re Manaa” and “Chameli,” along with musical adaptations of literary works including Rashmirathi. In addition to her music career, she has published a collection of poems titled Splash.

She holds a degree in business management and transitioned to music as a full-time profession in 2009. Through her work, she continues to engage with literature, music, and independent artistic production.
