Biography
Chidambar Joshi is a harmonium player and educator based in Hubli-Dharwad, Karnataka, recognized for his work in Indian classical music as both a solo artist and accompanist. Trained initially under his father, Shri Chandrakant Joshi, he represents a lineage-based approach to harmonium performance within the Hindustani classical tradition.
He has accompanied established artists such as Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi, Vidushi Smt. Sangeetha Katti, and Pt. Kumar Mardur, contributing to vocal concerts with responsive and technically refined harmonium support. In addition to accompaniment, he performs solo concerts and has been conferred the title “Vadana Chatura” in recognition of his musicianship.
Alongside performance, Chidambar Joshi is active as a music educator, offering both offline training in Hubli and online classes. With formal academic training in music and fine arts from Karnataka University, Dharwad, he continues to engage with students and audiences across platforms, contributing to the teaching and dissemination of the harmonium in Indian classical music.
