Charulatha Ramanujam is an accomplished Carnatic violinist whose music reflects a strong lineage, rigorous training, and deep aesthetic sensitivity. Raised in a musical family, her foundational learning began with her mother before she advanced under distinguished teachers such as Pudukkottai Ramanathan and eminent musicians R.K. Srikantan, Anur S. Ramakrishna, and Neela Ramgopal. This diverse mentorship shaped her style, marked by clarity of bowing, strong tonal control, and nuanced interplay in both solo and accompaniment contexts.
Her contributions to Indian classical music have been recognized with major honors, including the Swaralayaratna Award, the Kalki Krishna Murthy Award, and the Music Academy’s Best Concert Team Award (2023). As an All India Radio Top Grade artist, Charulatha has been featured in numerous concerts, festivals, and broadcasts, collaborating with leading vocalists and instrumentalists.
