Biography
Anand Bhate is an acclaimed Indian classical vocalist from the Kirana gharana. He is particularly known for his classical renditions in the Marathi film Balgandharva (2011).
Born in Pune, India, Anand comes from a family deeply rooted in Indian classical music. He inherited the singing tradition from his great-grandfather, Bhate Buva, a renowned vocalist of Thumri and Natya Sangeet in the 19th century.
Anand began systematic training in classical singing at the age of 10 under Chandrashekhar Deshpande, and later trained under Yashwantbua Marathe. He also studied for 15 years under the legendary Bhimsen Joshi, honing his mastery in classical music. Alongside his musical pursuits, he graduated from the College of Engineering Pune.
