Biography
Ambily Rajeesh is a senior Kuchipudi practitioner who has been active in the classical dance field for nearly three decades. As a solo performer, she has presented a range of traditional Kuchipudi compositions, maintaining clarity of technique and adherence to classical structure.
Her documented repertoire includes items such as Jathiswaram, which highlights rhythmic and technical precision; Navarasam, exploring the nine fundamental human emotions; and Kuchipudi Pooja, a ritualistic invocatory piece often performed at the opening of a recital. These works reflect her grounding in core Kuchipudi performance practice.
In addition to performing, Ambily Rajeesh is engaged in dance education and is associated with the Bhavayami School of Dance, where she trains students in classical Kuchipudi. She also maintains a digital presence through Ambily’s Space for Dance on YouTube, sharing performances and instructional content to reach a wider audience.
