Biography

Ustad Amanat Ali Khan (1922 – 18 September 1974) was a Pakistani classical vocalist of the Patiala gharana. He was trained by his father, Akhtar Hussain Khan, and was part of a musical lineage associated with the gharana.

He performed with his brother Bade Fateh Ali Khan, forming a vocal duo that gained recognition across the Indian subcontinent. Their performances included concerts, radio, and television appearances, and they represented the Patiala style of singing.

Amanat Ali Khan was associated with khayal, thumri, and ghazal forms and was active on Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television. He was awarded the Pride of Performance in 1969.

He was born in Hoshiarpur and later moved to Pakistan after 1947. He died in Lahore on 18 September 1974.
