Ajit Singh

Ajit Singh is a distinguished Indian classical musician known for his mastery of the vichitra veena, one of the most ancient and rare string instruments in Indian music. He is regarded as a pioneering figure in reviving and popularizing this instrument, helping to preserve a tradition that was once at risk of fading away. 

Ajit Singh has spent many years learning from respected gurus and developing a deep understanding of Indian classical music. His performances are known for their richness, depth, and expressive quality. Over the years, he has toured extensively across different countries, presenting concerts, lecture-demonstrations, and workshops to spread awareness about the vichitra veena and its unique sound. 

In addition to his performing career, he has also contributed significantly as a teacher. He has shared his knowledge with students, including teaching at institutions such as Doon Private School in Dehradun. Through teaching and mentoring, he has played an important role in passing on the tradition of this rare instrument to the next generation. 

Apart from music, Ajit Singh is associated with Pratap Music House, a family-established music store originally started by his grandfather. His combined work as a performer, educator, and cultural ambassador has made him an important figure in preserving and promoting the heritage of Indian classical instrumental music.
