Ajinkya Joshi

Ajinkya Joshi, a talented tabla player based in Pune, began his musical journey at the tender age of seven under the guidance of Shantilal Shah, a distinguished disciple of the legendary tabla maestro Suresh Talwalkar. Growing up in a family that cherished music, Ajinkya was encouraged by his parents to pursue a career in tabla. At sixteen, he relocated to Mumbai to further his training, dedicating over ten years to rigorous practice and learning under the mentorship of Suresh Talwalkar. 

His dedication to music earned him the Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Award in 1999, and he has had the honor of performing alongside his guru in numerous tabla solo concerts across India. Ajinkya's musical talents have taken him beyond the Indian subcontinent, as he has accompanied a variety of artists and toured extensively in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Canada, and the USA. His contributions to the field of music have also been recognized by the Government of India, which awarded him the National Scholarship for young artists. In 2006, driven by his passion for teaching, Ajinkya took his expertise to Toronto, Canada, where he taught tabla for eight months, inspiring a new generation of students. His journey continues to bridge cultural connections through music, blending tradition with contemporary expression.
