Ajeet Kumar Pathak

Ajeet Pathak is an Indian tabla player associated with the Hindustani classical music tradition. He began his musical training at the age of six under the guidance of his father, Shri Deochandra Pathak, who introduced him to the fundamentals of tabla and rhythm. He later continued his advanced training under two eminent maestros of the instrument, Padma Vibhushan Pandit Kishan Maharaj and Ustad Sabir Khan, gaining exposure to traditional repertoire and performance techniques.

As a performer, Ajeet Pathak has presented concerts across India, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, both as a soloist and as an accompanist to leading classical musicians. His performances demonstrate a balance of traditional compositions, improvisation, and rhythmic dialogue, reflecting the stylistic depth of the Hindustani tabla tradition. In addition to stage performances, he has also appeared as a regular classical musician on television platforms such as Zee TV and Sahara TV.

Ajeet Pathak is recognized as an A-grade artist of All India Radio, reflecting his standing within the classical music community. His contributions to Indian classical percussion have been acknowledged through several honors, including the Taal Mani Award from Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai, the HMV Award, and the Taal Ratan Award from Los Angeles, USA. Through concerts and collaborations, he continues to contribute to the presentation of tabla in both traditional and international musical contexts.
