Afroz Bano

Afroz Bano is an Indian classical and semi-classical vocalist from Jaipur with a diverse training background and a repertoire rooted in North Indian musical traditions. She began her musical education under Ustad Sadullah Khan of Sikar, where she received her foundational training.

She further refined her art under the guidance of Ustad Faiyaz Ahmad Khan and Ustad Niaz Ahmad Khan of Jaipur, gaining exposure to established vocal traditions. Continuing her learning journey, she also trained with Ustad Abdul Rehman Khan of the Patiala gharana, which added stylistic depth and variety to her singing.

Her areas of specialization include thumri, dadra, kajri, chaiti, ghazals, Rajasthani mand, lok geet, and bhajans. These forms highlight her focus on expressive and lyrical styles of Hindustani music, often associated with semi-classical and devotional traditions.

Afroz Bano has performed extensively across India. She has participated in national-level programs, sangeet sammelans, and music conferences, building a presence on the concert stage.

She is supported and guided musically by her husband, Ustad Hidayat Khan, a noted tabla player. This close musical association has contributed to her continued growth as a performer.
