Biography
Aadarsh M Nair is a Carnatic vocalist, teacher, and researcher based in New Delhi, recognized among the emerging generation of Carnatic musicians active in North India. Known for his versatile voice and expansive repertoire, he has developed a reputation for combining traditional Carnatic performance with academic and pedagogical engagement in music.
He began his musical training at the age of eight under the guidance of Guruvayoor Dr. T. V. Manikandan, from whom he received extensive training in Carnatic vocal music. Through years of disciplined study, he developed a strong grounding in the stylistic nuances, repertoire, and improvisational aspects of the Carnatic tradition.
During his training, Aadarsh M. Nair received scholarships from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Government of India, and later from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, supporting his continued development as a young musician. His performances have been presented under various cultural platforms across Delhi and other parts of the country, where his melodious voice and adherence to classical aesthetics have been appreciated by audiences and critics alike.
In addition to concert performances, Aadarsh is also associated with All India Radio, Delhi, where he appears as a regular performer. Academically, he completed Sangeet Shiromani from the Faculty of Music, University of Delhi, and continues his advanced studies by pursuing a master's degree in music at the same institution.
Alongside his performance career, Aadarsh M Nair is actively engaged in teaching and mentoring young students, focusing on structured and thoughtful approaches to music education. His interests also extend into music therapy, reflecting a broader engagement with the role of music in well-being and learning.
