Biography
Vidwan R. Achyutha Rao is a Carnatic classical violinist recognized for his traditional style and role as an accompanist on the concert platform. He began learning music at the age of nine under his guru and uncle, Vid. B. Raghuram, a noted violin and harmonium artist.
An “A” grade artist, Achyutha Rao has accompanied several senior and contemporary musicians, supporting performances with clarity and adherence to the nuances of the main artist’s rendition. Alongside accompaniment, he also performs as a soloist and participates in fusion concerts and recordings across genres, including music for Bharatanatyam productions.
He has presented concerts at leading sabhas and cultural platforms across India, including Bengaluru Gayana Samaja, Rama Seva Mandali, Malleshwaram Sangeetha Sabha, Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha (Mysuru), and venues in Chennai, Kolkata, Kerala, and Mangaluru. His performances have also been featured on curated platforms such as the Carnatic Collective.
A recipient of awards such as ‘Best Accompaniment on Violin’ from Bengaluru Gayana Samaja and ‘Ananya Yuva Prathibhe Award,' he has also been awarded the CCRT Scholarship by the Government of India for Carnatic Classical Violin.
In addition to his performing career, Achyutha Rao is an engineer by profession and is engaged in teaching violin and vocal music, contributing to the continuation of the Carnatic tradition.
